Not sure why this didn't post the first time. My mom is in the
hospital, one of her spinal discs has crumbled and is pressing on her
spinal cord. They are not sure if it is from the cancer or from
brittle bones, no tumors showed up on that part of her spine in her
last PET scan. Also they do not know if the surrounding discs are
damaged, from the MRI they appear to be ok, but won't know until the
surgeon gets in there. She has been in the hospital since Friday, in
order to keep her from moving around, potentially falling, which would
cause paralysis. Also, no surgery will eventually leave her paralyzed.
The surgery is Thursday at 9am CST. Please keep her in your thoughts
and prayers (mom's name is Patty), as well as my Dad (his name is
Jerry). We are all very upset, especially since she had been doing so
well. She is actually the most calm, she has a very strong faith in
God's will. She is only 67 years young, and I'm not ready to lose my
mom. I cried and cried all weekend, but dad and I -- and mom and I --
have all had some very good talks.
I hope this posts, I was wondering why no one had responded, or maybe
it was just deleted, I'm not sure. I could certainly use the support
right now.
