do I wish that the gentlemen would understand what 'baking powder' is.
Baking powder is a leavening agent used to make cakes, cookies, and the
like rise in baking and consists of an alkaline substance plus an acidic
substance which reacts in the baking, releases carbon dioxide and
leavens the product...Admittedly this is confusing because sodium
bicarbonate is commonly called Baking Soda. It is not baking powder.
Some baking powders are composed of Baking Soda plus an acid such as
cream of tartar or even an acidic aluminum compound but may not
necessarily have any Baking Soda in it at all!....For therapeutic use
we want Baking Soda whose proper name is sodium bicarbonate. Very useful
item for all of us who occasionally have indigestion and perhaps also
for retarding those tumors.... I wish I could somehow underline those
names to make the difference clear. All 'baking soda' sold in grocery
stores is sodium bicarbonate and is chemically pure to all intents and
purposes. Baking powders may contain anything, read your labels,
