Biography
Jacky Lea Bernstrauch , 54, died at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on May 17, 2008.

Jacky Brenneisen was born October 1, 1953 in Torrance, CA to Fred and Dorothy (Fletcher) Brenneisen. She graduated from high school and then served with the US Navy from 1973-1976. Most of her military career was served in the Hawaiian Islands.
Jacky moved to the Des Moines/Oseola, Iowa area in 1976 where she settled down and started her family. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa in 1995 where she has lived ever since.
She had various occupations but her most cherished position has always been as a homemaker and mother. Her children have always been her most treasured joy.
Jacky loved to crochet, especially gifts for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader. She preferred the simple things in life, being in the presence of a loved one, strolling outside and enjoying the beautiful flowers in bloom. Jacky liked seeing a good tear-jerker movie. She loved listening to the old Rock Bands. Her favorite group was "The Cure" and favorite song was "The Same Deep Water As You," by them.

Jacky is survived by her children; Megan Page of Sioux City, IA, Gary Bernstrauch of Milo, IA and Sommer Torres of Las Vegas, NV,6 grandchildren, and siblings; Janice Perez, Simi Valley, CA, Michael Haley, San Jose, CA, Judy Fenyes, Sparks, NV, Patrick Haley, Sparks, NV, Jerry Simpson, Empire, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, June Samuels.
Chapel Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family. Private services will be held.
