I've met quite a few former vegetarians in the last few years. When I
ask them why they gave it up, they tell me it was because they needed
more protein. The first three years of being a veggie raw foodist, I
didn't have a protein problem and so I thought these ex-vegetarians were
just wacky. But now I see there is a problem for some. Our bodies
change over time and we must be willing to alter our diets to satisfy
what our body needs.

I know I don't want to go back to eating meat. I'm severely allergic to
soy. I'm also allergic to nuts and peanuts. This is why I did go back
to eating meat a long time ago. That was a huge mistake for me because
it lead me down a road of very bad health. When I gave up meat this
last time, I got much healthier. So, now I know, no meat.

Eggs also make me queasy, but I'll eat them to satisfy the protein need.
I'm cursing myself right now, because I forgot to pick some up at the
store yesterday. :) I also need to find a whey protein powder again
because the rice protein powder I was using doesn't work as well. My ND
is against me using dairy of any type, and he's right. I feel better
when I don't eat any.

So, I understand. I think you need to do what you need to do in order
to feel strong. A sense of well-being will help you on your journey to
good health.
