Hello FrankCuns-Rial,

I already read it. Indole 3 carbinol has more than one relationship
to breast cancer cells. One of these relationships may be succinctly
described as "blocking estrogen". The original question was with
regard to alternative ways to block estrogen. Indole 3 carbinol is
one of those ways. As you pointed out it is also active in
converting one form of estrogen to another, less harmful form. It
also can help promote G1 arrest in cancer cells. It does do both
these things....but, it also blocks the activity of estrogen at the
receptor site.
