Bee pollen is collected by bees from flowers and put in the "sac" of their legs. When they enter their hives, there is a contraption that takes half the pollen they have in the sac without hurting the bee (the other half is the food of the queen). Yes, a bit expensive, but you only take one to two teaspoonfuls a day. I just read a TCM book explaining that plant protein can't give enough protein like meat is not accurate. Many plant edible food specially dark green ones are also rich in protein.
