Jim- Cheese is allowed on the Budwig diet. You may have concerns with
dairy so that you don't want to eat it. I use nuts for protein, if
eaten raw they need to be soaked for 8 hours or so. Seeds and nuts
contain enzyme inhibitors to keep them from sprouting and preserve the
seed embryo, and water removes these as the sprouting process begins.
I have gotten bad liver pain from eating a lot of unsoaked walnuts or
other nuts in the past. Roasting also kills these inhibitors but is
less healthful as it also kills the enzymes.

Then there are all the legume/ grain combinations- beans, lentils, dal,
peas, and (I avoid grains with gluten that have been implicated in
celiac disease and for me IBS), grains I eat are rice, millet, quinoa,
amaranth, and buckwheat. A good part of the 3rd world lives almost
exclusively on this kind of protein. I also eat salmon about once a
week, as fish oils are a good source of Omega 3's.

Have you tried green tea, which is high in cancer-fighting flavonoids,
for that spacey feeling?

www.azurestandard.com

is a co-op in Oregon that has truck routes all
up and down the west coast and sells lots of different health foods,
also ships to people not on their routes. They would have almond
cheese.
