The tranferrin was used in vitro to get iron into cells to maximize
the effect of artemisinin. Human cancer cells in vivo already have
very high levels of iron. The transferrin is not required.
The butyric acid is to increase intestinal uptake. You can do
something similar with coconut fat. It has lauric acid in it which
increases intestinal uptake of fat solubles like artemisinin.
