I think you need to explain "big or deep breathing". I teach yoga
and have never seen or heard of any negative implications from
breathing using yogic techniques. It can occur from rapid breathing
or breathing using mainly the chest. A correct yogic breath uses the
diaphragm. There is a fast yogic breath using the diaphragm that is
very beneficial to one's health called "Breath of Fire".
