recently in Britain "Curaderm" has been found effective in all cases
of non-melanoma skin cancers This includes Merkel cell carcinoma. It
is a topical ointment applied 2 to 3 times daily for 8 to 12 weeks.
Cancer cured with no return in 5 year follow up. Information is widely
available on the internet. Temporarily it causes a mild burning
sensation and produces local inflammation. It is not toxic and has no
effect on healthy cells. It is being studied for i.v. use for other
tumors.
I'm currently using it myself for what looks like a basal cell
carcinoma on my face.
Another possibility is Aldara (imiquimod) an immune system stimulant
that is FDA approved for the treatment of Actinic Keratosis. This too is
a topical ointment and is likely effective against non-melanoma skin
cancers but not yet approved.
