Life is full of choices and when one wants to make a choice to get a test, such as a biopsy or a Mammogram even if there is risk involved, that is their choice- it is never mandatory. It is one's choice/decision not anyone else's.

There is enough evidence that Mammograms have risk because of radiation just as biopsies can 'seed' cancer cells throughout the body. Additional risks exist too.

Here's a piece from a Ralph Moss article:

"Dr. Steven Goodman, a professor and researcher at the School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., agrees, saying that between three to five women will receive at least one false positive diagnosis after 10 mammograms.
"The two downsides to mammograms are false positives and finding 'pseudo disease,'" he says. Pseudo diseases are small breast tumors that may or may not spread into cancer. Goodman says the problem is that there is no way of knowing whether it will grow, so it will most likely end in unnecessary lumpectomy or mastectomy

Here's a bit more: "In addition to exposing a woman to harmful radiation, the mammography procedure may help spread an existing mass of cancer cells. During a mammogram, considerable pressure must be placed on the woman's breast, as the breast is squeezed between two flat plastic surfaces. According to some health practitioners, this compression could cause existing cancer cells to metastasize from the breast tissue."

I read elsewhere that Mammography for 'early' detection is not an accurate concept because, by the time the cancer is able to be seen, it has been growing for some time. It is still one's choice, not the physician's and that's O.K.,
