[cancercured] Re: High temperatures---Spinach

GB,

How can you make such generalized assumptions that cold showers increase
longevity or boost the immune system when in fact, that is not true.

The tropical regions are enjoying higher longevities and rank only a few
years behind the Canada due to the following reasons. It is NOT cold
showers or cold weather where they never experience such aspects. Hot
water stimulates the circulatory system as much as cold water. One to
cool, the other to heat the body as a result of exposure to either.

In fact, cold weather and water taxes the body more than hot water.
Very few deaths occur due to hot water, while hyperthermia is a major
cause of death in colder regions. In colder climates, one must consume
more and denser food groups to maintain the body temperature (i.e.
Eskimos and blubber versus the tropics and native plants/fruits).

Various factors contribute to an individual's longevity. Significant
factors in life expectancy include gender, genetics, access to health
care, hygiene, diet and nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and crime rates.
Below is a list of life expectancies in different types of countries:[2]

(From Wikipedia on Life Span)

* First World: . . . 77-83 years (eg. Canada: 80.1 years, 2005 est)
* Third World:. . . 35-60 years (eg. Mozambique: 40.3 years, 2005
est)

Population longevities can be seen as increasing due to increases in
life expectancies around the world:[3][2]

* Spain:. . . . . 81.02 years in 2002, 82.31 years in 2005
* Australia: . . 80 years in 2002, 80.39 years in 2005
* Italy:. . . . . . 79.25 years in 2002, 79.68 years in 2005
* France: . . . .79.05 years in 2002, 79.60 years in 2005
* Germany: . . 77.78 years in 2002, 78.65 years in 2005
* UK: . . . . . . 77.99 years in 2002, 78.4 years in 2005
* USA: . . . . . 77.4 years in 2002, 77.7 years in 2005

Please do not confuse fact with assumption, or fallacies of logic. As
regions are able to access the same conditions for all people, the
averages have converged to the upper side. These are more a result of
the advances in diet, hygiene, nutrition, and medical factors which
comprise the primary reasons for longevity increases. First world
countries access and enjoy these amenities on a wider scale. Looking at
historical trends, these are the primary reason for increasing longevity
spans in the past hundred years.
