[cancercured] Re: Ralph Moss AND New to the List

I got a report and a phone consult. I was brand new to a diagnosis at
the time and feeling desperate for information. I did not know about
this list and this was one of the avenues that presented itself. My
philosophy at the time was that if I was led somewhere I should check
it out. That is a philosophy that stood me well at the time because I
gained an incredible amount of knowledge in an extremely short time
frame and it really helped to put things in perspective for me. These
days I have more knowledge and I must be more discriminate with my funds.
My opinion is it is not worth the amount of money Moss charges for
either service. The report could be worthwhile at a significantly
lower price. It is not really specific to particular cancers although
it does go into some detail about many alternative possibilities which
are interesting. But Moss is hard pressed to recommend many of them
and a great deal of them, certainly the ones that have stood the test
of time can be learned about on CancerTutor or this list for free.
The phone consult was outright awful and a complete waste of time and
$. I wish I'd thought to ask for my money back.
Moss kept pushing the conventional route of chemo/radiation even
though I'd said right up front I was not interested and he really had
nothing else he would recommend. In the end he mentioned something
about feverfew-specifically the parthenolide content and that it was
in studies and was showing some promise. He also talked about stem
cell research positively.

Anyway after getting that information I ended up pretty much ignoring
it and continuing down my path which has included no conventional
treatments whatsoever.

If I had to make a guess about the members of the list I would say
that the leaning is more to the non conventional although I know there
are members who have done both.
I think the most important thing to do when new to a diagnosis is to
not react from a perspective of fear but to be still and listen to
your heart and intuition. Let it lead you down the path that is right
for you. If thats conventional, so be it, but dont let that decision
be based on fear or ignorance of other options.

Its been mentioned before but I will say it again, you almost always
have FAR more time to consider options than the doctors would have you
think.

Be Well. KC
