I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer over three years ago with multiple mets to the bone and a PSA of 112 at that time.Last week I had another round of scans, blood work and etc to see how the disease is progressing. We found the cancer is still confined to the prostate and the original sites of bony tumors on the skeleton. All markers are down including alkaline Phos which shows a decrease in bone activity. Bottom line is we have prevented this stage 4 cancer from growing in its original locations and more importantly prevented new metastasize. I have not had any surgery. When my PC was discovered it was too late for that. However, I have recieved a fair amount of education in the past 3 years regarding PC. My recommendation to you is to avoid surgery at all costs.And the reason for that is because you simply dont need it. The USA is so far behind Europe and the rest of the world in PC treatment its scandalous. If you had an extremely fast
growing agressive cancer and it became imperative to remove the Prostate as the best course, you would not have surgery. You would have HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) This 4 hour walk in proceedure is standard treatment in Europe now. The beauty of it is that it spares critical tissue and can be repeated if some of the cancer was missed.
The scandal resides in the fact that the proceedure was developed in the USA and the machines are built in New Jersey. You can get the proceedure in Canada, Europe, Japan etc and etc. You cannot get it here, they would rather cut you up a bit and make ten times the money, especially if your surgery ends up in complications. HIFU is now under fast track FDA trials (after being available for almost ten years in Europe) so it will be available in the USA sometime at a clinic near you (sic)
You have caught your cancer before it has spread. You have multiple choices before you and plenty of time to make an informed decision. Just drink eight ounces of pomegranate juice a day for now and take one Proscar (get your doctors approval) sit back and educate yourself. There is absolutely no need for you to die from PC. But, you will have to study if you dont want to be railroaded down the long grey road of surgery, radiation and hormone treatments.

Hi, Im new to the group. I have been dx with PC. My gleason is a 9,

My question is this; what are some feelings on surgery, effective
natural healings etc. Doctor wants to do surgery. I have started
myself on Graviola and, a good multi vitamin. I have been looking at
the herb "paw paw". So far, all I have been getting is the bad
feedback from family and other groups. Any encouraging suggestions? I
personally feel that, the body can heal. What are your thoughts?
