Could anyone get word to Swayze? Or Kylie Minogue? Interesting question because that's what I've just been trying to do. My book Cancer Recovery Guide: 15 Alternative and Complementary Strategies for restoring Health (yes, I'm afraid this is an implicit plug) is going to be released on April 14th. However, the book is actually available right now and I wanted to send him a copy (well, you've got to try!) - I sent messages to fan club, agent and the producers of the David Letterman show. No response from any - so I guess that answers the question! The trouble for everyone is that we react to the news of cancer in a kneejerk way based on what seems obviously to make sense (if we've never thought about it before) - and that is to go with the doctor. But since presumably the 98% of pancreatic cancer patients who didn't survive five years also did what the doctor suggested - that would seem to be a good reason to do something else. However, I'd be very interested if there have
been any studies on survivability - ie has anyone looked at what the 2% who survive pancreatic cancer for more than five years did - maybe they did exactly the same as everyone else but just happened to be lucky. I'd like to think that the truth is that they did the Kelley programme or something but who knows unless we look.
