Of course nothing works all the time for everyone, but my own
experience with something called "vitae elixir" in 1990 was that the
stuff was a pretty color, it didn't taste too bad, and that it didn't
do a thing to shrink the cancer.

The person who sold it to me, a "Ralph" Something, actually
guaranteed it would work when used as directed. I am not kidding.
When it did not do a thing, I asked for my money back, and "Ralph"
was reluctant to send me a check, so I suggested that either he send
me the check or I would speak with the FDA about him. I had the check
in three days, I did not go to the FDA, and as far as I know, "Ralph"
is still selling his "guaranteed to work" "vitae elixir."

It may surprise a member or two that I threatened "Ralph" with
reporting him to the FDA, but I do not give alternative medicine "a
break" just because it is alternative. Had he not guaranteed the
stuff would work, I probably would not have demanded my money back.
But so many of us spend so much money on stuff that either doesn't
work, or that we don't know if it's working or not, that it's nice to
be able look back to a time when I was able to get my money back on
something.

Incidentally, Swanson Vitamins is excellent about giving you back
your money on anything you feel did not work, or that you don't need
or don't want to take anymore. They even pay for the return shipping
and they even take back bottles that have been opened and used. As
long as there are still a few tablets or capsules in the bottle, they
will refund full price on it. (Since someone asked one time, I will
add that yes, they throw out the opened bottles; they do not resell
them.)
