The only study I found that addressed the question of would sunlight have an effect on bilirubin in adults came up with a negative conclusion:
http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S0006322300009057 The test seemed very meager and I would try it in spite of limited documentation. It can't hurt if for no other reason than to supplement vitamin D levels. I'll be more observant in the future.

One of the best substances I've seen to get Liver lipids back to normal is D-Glucarate http://www.energeticnutrition.com/vitalzym/calcium-d-glucarate.html. When used in combination with Chaga mushroom extract http://www.cababstractsplus.org/google/abstract.asp?AcNo=20053020152, we have seen lipid levels return to normal within a short span. I do not have followup experience from someone who has a cancer that has metastised to the liver though, so results may be slower.
