Hello, and thank you for your concern. I just found out that the Dr.'s have ordered a mamogram and an ultra sound for Feb. 12. I have no ins. so I am going to Charity Hospital. I was reading about the genic testing... what is your take on that? I had to fuss at my mom, she has had a cycst for some years it was not cancer back then, she had the fluid removed and tested then they filled the cycst back up with air, and it ahas been some years and she has not had a mamogram as well in some years now. With breast cancer in our family, you would think she would get checked regurly. She is 65. My mom fdepends on me for everything, and I need her to get to the Dr.'s, and she won't go. I've expressed my feelings very stongly to her, it did not help. mAny suggestions????

Stephanie,
NOW is a good time to start getting checked. My mom
has had fibrous cysts for years, this past July she
was diagnosed with stage 3 BC, the tumor was around
the cyst. She is going to have both beasts removed
this Feb as she does not want to go thru this again,
she had regular mammograms and this just flared up,
you may be a good candidate to have ultra sound exams
instead of the regular mammogram, you could also have
an MRI done.
