[cancercured] Re: Coffe/Green Tea---pulse, blood pressure

There is nothing good about coffee except the taste, and I don't even
like that because it leaves a yucky after-taste in my mouth. It's
another of those multi-billion, maybe even trillion dollar businesses
which must be perpetuated because of how much money it makes.
Decaffeinated coffee? That seems to me like "no-alcohol" "beer." Is
it even actually beer if it has no alcohol? And what is the purpose
of drinking it if it contains no alcohol? None, really.

Green tea has plenty of caffeine, though it does have significant
anti-oxidant benefits. There are naturopaths and other health
professionals who feel the negatives of caffeine in green tea weigh
too heavily against its benefits. They recommend things like red
raspberries/red raspberry powder, stinging nettle and other
plants/herbs.

I was taking 7 capsules of green tea daily for weeks, and have found
that my resting pulse, taken first thing in the morning before
becoming active, has risen from 60 to about 82! My blood pressure,
last time I checked it, was 133/83, which I believe to be just into
the danger zone. There are other possible factors, such as my having
been down with serious bronchtis/sinusitis for the last 6 weeks, and
my not having exercised much at all during that time. But I do not
think the green tea extract did me any good in that regard.

I have been off green tea extract for about 3-4 days now, and am back
to exercising and the bronchitis has calmed down considerably. I am
waiting to see if my pulse and blood pressure come back down.
