I don't recall the (highly flawed) article indicating or implying that
sunlight (which I STRONGLY believe in), or foods naturally high in
vit. D, like cod liver oil (which I STRONGLY believe in) would be any
better than the equivalent amount of vit. D "supplements". I'm not
impressed by the article, which is blatantly biased against vit. C
supplementation. In addition to being vague all around, the article
never specifies what type of vit. D they're talking about (nor any
specific dosages).
Also, it barely even alludes to any of the extensive evidence of
beneficial effects of vit. D nor the extensive evidence that vit. D
deficiency not only is correlated with but CAUSES disease.

I do believe in avoiding SYNTHETIC vit. D (ERGOcalciferol) and foods
"fortified" w/it.

I think WestonAPrice.org (which I do NOT globally endorse by any
means) discusses how important vit. D is and how deficient people are
in it. (They happen to be biased against supplements in general, for
unrelated reasons, though they strongly believe in cod liver oil,
probably the best form of vit. D).
