[cancercured] Re: B-cell lymphomas -- Somatostatin

Hi, Carla.

Thank you very much for this information and congratulations that
your husband is able to control the lymphoma with somatostatin
injections.

I would be grateful if you could explain in lay terms just what
somatostatin is and how it works. I did an internet search
under "somatostatin lymphoma" but all I found was technical stuff
which, when I read it, made it look as if somatostatins bind to
lymphoma cells, but that it is other things attached to the
somatostatins that actually destroy the cancer.

I hope you can enlighten me in terms I can understand about how
somatostatins work, or else direct me to a site where I can read a
lay explanation about somatostatins.

Thanks so much.

Elliot
