Zappers sometimes sting when you use it on both palms of your hands.

Put it on your face and it will sting.

I have the terminator II, the small pocket sized zapper and to
demonstrate that it kills bacteria, I wait for time I get body odor and
zap my underarms. Gets rid of the bacteria that causes body odor. Gets
rid of body odor. Of course squeezing a lemon is faster, just slap it
under your arm.

You can go to your local electronics shop and have them measure your
zapper's output.
