[cancercured] Re: maple syrup

Hi, Jonothan.

I appreciate your skepticism! :+))

Here is a telling part of the article:

"This benefit, combined with the fact that the same quantity also
provides significant amounts of manganese, riboflavin, zinc,
magnesium, calcium and potassium, puts maple syrup head and shoulders
above other common sweeteners like white sugar, brown sugar, honey
and corn syrup."

Well, yes, it's nice if maple syrup has those things, but there are
absolutely far better sources for them than maple syrup, and white
sugar, "brown" sugar, honey(especially non-raw honey) and corn syrup
are not too difficult to compete against!

Personally, I would only very occasionally use maple syrup, and would
far more often use stevia and xylitol if I want to add a sweet taste
to something. I also use Agave nectar, which I think is raw and is
better than Maple syrup.

But even more importantly, I think it an excellent idea to drop as
much added sugar from one's diet as possible, so as to get to where
one can taste the natural sweetness of vegetables and other dietary
items.

Best of health,

Elliot
