WHO PROFITS FROM LUNG CANCER SCREENING? - PART I

in the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Claudia Henschke, the
study's lead author, has disclosed that her research was funded to the
tune of $3.6 million by the tobacco industry. The money came from
Liggett Tobacco, and was channeled through an innocent-sounding charity
- the Foundation for Lung Cancer: Early Detection, Prevention &
Treatment. - that was set up by Dr. Henschke at Weill Cornell Medical
Center.
