Just because something cannot be explained does not mean it is quackery. In
fact a lot of natural medicine modalities cannot be explained to satisfy our
supposedly superb "scientific" community. And this know-all scientific
community is exact;u why our healthcare situation is the way it is in the
US. Conventional medicine has us so fearful that should we try something
"out of the box" then surely it is a waste of time and money.
You just cannot expect natural modalities to fit in the box of conventional
medicine or even science. This is not a good measuring stick at all as we
are talking apples and oranges.
My body healed from stage 3 colon cancer using natural medicine. I did use
surgery to get the tumor out and one month of horrible chemotherapy (before
I knew better). Certainly not enough to do much, according to conventional
medicine. In 8 months I was well using natural medicine. I used many
different modalites---some of which I have seen described as quackery on
this forum. All of this took place in 2000-2001 and I remain cancer-free.
There were a lot of people (friends and family) standing around with their
arms folded, like I had literally taken leave of my senses by implementing
alternative medicine for cancer. But I was open to most anything that might
help my body to heal. I told my alternative medicine dr that if he told me
to stand on my head for 3 hours everyday then I would do it. While
skepticism certainly has its place, we must be very, very careful not to
allow it to get in the way of our healing.
It takes an open mind to get well and if you don't completely understand a
modality, so what? Do we understand everything about conventional medicine
or science, iteself? No. However, there is just as much quackery there as
what many say about natural medicine. Yet, we blindly believe the doctor's
mantra and our society becomes sicker and sicker.
Be open to your healing. While my belief is that all healing comes from
God, I believe that He can use whatever means He pleases to accomplish the
healing. We are the ones that do the limiting by our negative thoughts and
by not being open.
I have seen many get very good benefits from the foot baths and from the
foot pads. In no way would I ever say these modalities are quackery nor are
they cure-alls. Maybe part of it is a placebo effect and that's ok. In
fact, in our clinic, we will be implementing a very hi-tech foot bath and
possibly foot pads in a month or two. I have sat back and watched when the
foot pads and ionic foot baths first came on the market. I am convinced
that they are what many people need, maybe not everyone, but many and they
do aid in the healing process.
Belief in what you are doing is important and can have a dramatic healing
effect all on its on. Belief in what you are doing to help support your
body's natural healing mechanisms is extremely important.
So unless a modality is found to be very toxic or totally harmful, please be
aware that comments that indicate quackery based on other people's
"assumptions" may actually be doing others more harm than good. If you are
drawn to a specific modality give it a try. Who knows, it may be just what
YOUR body needs. Your body is unique to YOU. Basing what you try on
other's experiences just may cause you to pass on modalities that would
benefit your particular health concern.
And for those that are not familiar with Stephen Barrett. He is the CEO of
deception and lies.
