[cancercured] Re: Was Foot baths, now Quackery or No?

I appreciate your passionate defense of natural medicine in general.
I certainly am not criticizing all of alternative medicine. I
certainly am not of the opinion that "it is dangerous to try
something out of the box." Stephen Barrett IS "the CEO of Lies."

But one of the greatest values of this group, as I see it, is that a
person can come here and can ask such a question as, "Are footbath
treatments valid and should I try them?" and that they can get an
unprejudiced opinion about it because they will not get only one
opinion about that particular modality.

Believe me, I am taking your opinion and that of another member who
is pro-footbaths quite seriously, and I thank both of you for being
kind enough and for taking the time to give us your own particular
voice of experience.

But I have been on this board for quite some time, and I have never
seen this place as being one that dismisses any alternative treatment
out of hand, or that is prejudiced against alternative medicine. Far
from it. I don't think we have to defend all of natural medicine and
become concerned about such a phenomenon when we see members posting
something negative about any particular modality.

I think discussions such as the one we have been having about detox
footbaths are a very necessary and very valuable part of this group.

In fact, due to two hands-on members, you and the other member,
giving their positive opinions about foot baths, I am now rethinking
my position on them. I thank you both!
