Well, outside of environmental exposure or over supplementation it is
unusual to be high in copper. The American diet only has about half
the recommended amount. Vegetarians get even less. When copper is
high it can be Wilson's syndrome (which is why I asked about the
ring around the eye). High copper often accompanies low zinc. Low
zinc is a problem. Supplementation of zinc, if low, may help bring
the copper down as zinc levels rise.
