Re: [cancercured] Research Genetic Cancer Center

We have used this service perhaps a hundred times over the last 3-4
years. I argued vociferously against it for the following reasons:

1. It would tend to steer patients to chemotherapy when I thought
chemotherapy was not warranted. There are exceptions but it is
usually not that difficult to outperform chemotherapeutic options
using non-toxic methods.

2. It would give a false sense of confidence. The report is multiple
pages, technical, and has a nice presentation. It pleases both the
patient and the clinician as it gives very clear guidance. It would
tend to encourage lazy thinking on the part of the clinician.

3. Because the client needs the results very quickly, the lab has to
fly through only those tests that can be done in a day or two. How
can such a lab adequately assess the merits of immune therapies that
requires multiple organ systems, extracellular biochemical pathways,
medicinal therapies that might take six months, the confounding
affects of diet/meds/supplements, or of comorbid conditions?

4. We sent a sample of peripheral blood from a GBM patient and
received a typical report. I simply didn't believe it. They sent a
photo of the cell. Neither I nor the neuroscientists at UCLA
believed it was a brain cancer cell.

[We were able to bring the tumor down to about 2% of the size at
presentation using our usual methods. The docs at UCLA were not
impressed and convinced the family to do standard chemotherapy. The
patient died. Part of our operation is conducted in Mexico and
therefore we get no respect from the conventional medical mavens in
the US. Our colleagues in India probably often feel the same way. I
would not have been making conjugate cancer vaccines the last 20
years but for the seminal work of G.P.Talwar.]

In spite of all this I find myself recommending the test whenever we
are at a loss. We get patients who come in with multiple drug
resistance from chemotherapy and virtually no immune function. We
know we have to move fast. We have followed the recommendations
suggested by this Greek lab and we have had excellent results. The
information provided is well worth the $2,000. I don't retract any
of my original objections, it is just that with use of the test over
several years I simply can't deny its utility.
