Hello Gubi,
As you are aware, the balance of the scant in-vivo research indicates
that is is safe to use glutamine in cancer treatment. I think the
conservative approach would be to monitor immune status via blood. If
the status declines, add glutamine to whatever immune stimulators you
are using. In the matter of cachexia, I would not hesitate to use
glutamine. Glutamine is, at best, adjunctive. It appears to have an
inhibiting effect on some tumor types. It is also an important
supporter of normal cellular function in all compartments, especially
the immune system. I use it along with strong cytotoxics, including
oleander and methyl jasmonate.
