In 1926 and again in 1946, John Tilden, M.D. wrote a fine book entitled, Toxemia Explained. Another Naturopath of old, Herbert M. Shelton, the foremost expert on Fasting (Water) also wrote extensively on the subject.
Their premise was that the everyday, every moment of our body's existence it is normally eliminating Metabolic Waste, the normal dying of cells. These learned and experienced men believed that when operating properly, the normal elimination of this waste via sweat, exhaling, urinating, and yes, defecating, took care of these multiple millions of dead and toxic waste.
One wrote that, if one were to inject a horse with just a vial of this waste it would die at once because that is how toxic it is. However, this wonderful organism rids itself of this waste easily................until they say, something checks this elimination and it stops.
As the body gets overloaded it needs a crisis to assure its survival............we throw up, we cough it up, we get diarrhea and many times a raging fever with lots of nose blowing. Is there any knowledgeable person that doesn't recognize these efforts at nothing more than defense mechanisms? Even Allopathics sometimes admit this.
Over the years there is constant enervation, the overloading of toxic waste..............lots of Inflammation followed by Induration and eventually the end-stage pathology of Cancer. So, did the enervation cause the cancer? Was it the overeating? The smoking? Or was it that these things caused the body to build up toxic waste?
Whichever came first, the Chicken or the egg.......doesn't matter because we have it and, sometimes, returning the body to its most efficient stage such as with diet and other life-style changes doesn't do the trick. The cancer keeps coming back until we don't. Even the die-hard followers of the heralded Budwig protocol admit that it doesn't work 100% of the time.
That is why, it appears, we sometimes need intervention or maybe, better put, we need help. Is it Pau d' Arco, Sun Soup, Essiac Tea, IPT or some other effort? Probably. As I've read some of Vincent's comments and, if wrong, I know he'll correct me. I remember reading where he said something like, 'if one is eating a reasonably good diet, don't expect a dietary improvement to be very effective in dealing with your cancer'.
That makes sense. I do believe that there are things we can do to lessen the tumor or other cancer burden on the body thereby allowing it to deal with the problem. Dealing with the problem hopefully so that 'Sustained Remission' takes place. Warburg? Shelton? Tilden? They seem to be saying a lot of the same things using different terms. Conventional medicine tries the same approach except they wind up killing the host instead of the cancer. In many instances we have time to experiment but in too many, the time is more limited and that is when we need the expertise of the Vincents of the world, not the Joe Cs of the world.
