Well, there's an argument about mercury toxicity appearing very much like autism in some cases, but there are notable differences.

I have no idea what causes autism, but certainly there is a genetic component as well as environmental factors. I do wish I'd not had all the amalgams breaking apart when I was pregnant (not that uncommon, as it happens, because your teeth move a lot when you have that much estrogen floating around your body). And i wish a few other things hadn't happened either. Ah well.
